You need
Paper, colours, a lump of clay. No art experience.

In the meeting, your idea goes unheard.

At lunch, your seat is suddenly taken.

In the group chat, you’re always the last to know.

Each scene looks harmless. Together they wear you down.

Bullying among adults is a group process. Beside the person who attacks there are followers, silent bystanders, and often someone with hidden influence. Managers look away or notice little. And old experiences from school come back as soon as a situation sounds familiar. That’s also where the hope is: the power of a unanimous group drops sharply as soon as one person breaks ranks. Nobody has to be brave all at once. It only has to stop being all against one.

Five sentences a child should be able to feel. The second evening is built around them:

  1. This is no fault of mine.
  2. I have a boundary.
  3. I have allies.
  4. I can do something.
  5. Things can change.

Many adults find their own school years in the room. The five sentences are for that child too.

What’s different for you afterwards

You stand taller.

People who are shut out shrink, inwardly and often physically. When something straightens up in your picture, your body tends to follow.

You can see the whole group.

Looking at the constellation from outside lifts you out of helplessness. You see who is only going along, and where an ally might stand.

You know where your boundary is.

You find out where your limit lies and what clarity feels like in your body, so you can find it again in the moment of a put-down.

You see what one person can change.

Influence in a group can exclude or protect. You experience how much shifts when one person refuses to join in. That person could be you.

Two evenings, a week apart. The first meets you as you are now. The second goes back to where it began.

Most of these patterns were planted early. So the second evening is about children: the ones in your life, and the one you once were. You learn how to help a child with this, and along the way you meet the child who first learned it.

Wednesday 20 January, 6.00pm to 8.30pm

“All against one”

For you, as an adult

Whether it’s happening now or has stayed with you since school, you look at it from the outside, safely.

What this evening sets in motion

  • Standing tall from within. People who are excluded shrink, inwardly and often physically too. When something straightens up in an image, the body often follows.
  • Gaining an overview. Seeing the constellation from outside lifts you out of helplessness. You recognise who’s going along with it and where allies might stand.
  • Seeing power differently. Influence in a group can exclude or protect. You experience how much one person who refuses to join in can change. That person could be you.
  • Sensing boundaries. You experience where your boundary lies and how clarity feels in your body.

You leave with

  • A map of the group: followers, bystanders and possible allies
  • An exercise to steady yourself in the moment of a put-down
  • Clarity about what is yours to do, and what is other people’s responsibility
  • If you lead a team: ways to steer a group towards protection

Wednesday 27 January, 6.00pm to 8.30pm

“Someone is on my side”

For the children in your life, and the child you were

A bullied child carries more than the attacks. They feel ashamed and say little at home.

What art-based approaches set in motion in children

  • Relief. In a picture, a child can show what is happening without having to tell everything. Shame shrinks, and the blame moves to where it belongs.
  • Boundaries and strength. A boundary a child has shaped with their own hands is one their body can feel. That helps them stay calmer when attacked.
  • Allies. Children experience that someone can join them. Just one more figure changes the whole constellation.
  • Agency. A child who can move something in a picture regains the feeling of making a difference in life too.

You leave with

  • Interventions you can use at home, at school or in counselling straight away
  • A clear path from safety, through relief, to a child acting for themselves again
  • Sentences that lift the blame off a child
  • Clarity about your own role as the adult

The exercises stay a surprise until the evening itself. The surprise is part of how they work.

What an evening is like

Who is it for?

What you learn here is a skill and an understanding, and it doesn’t stay with you alone. Once you’ve felt how it works, you can sit beside someone you love, a child, a partner, a parent, a friend, and keep them company through the same thing. You’re there as a companion, with paper and colour between you. Nobody is asking you to fix them or to be their therapist.

For yourself

You’re being shut out at work or elsewhere, or you still carry it from years ago.

For someone you love

Someone you love is being shut out, at school or at work, and you feel helpless outside a group you can’t get into. You want to be the one who is on their side.

For the people you work with

You lead a team, work in HR, teach, counsel, or do youth or school social work, and want to know how to turn a group towards protection.

An honest noteTwo and a half hours are not bullying therapy. Acute threats or effects on your health call for professional or legal support as well. If a child may be at risk, your organisation’s safeguarding procedures apply. The aim is never to help a child endure bullying better: it’s to help them act again, while adults take responsibility for making the situation safer.

Leads every evening live

Most people teaching art-based methods learned them from someone. Hildrun is the someone. She designed and led Germany’s first Art Therapy – Social Art degree at Alanus University, the programme a generation of practitioners was then trained inside.

Her method is trauma-sensitive by construction, not by disclaimer: the body leads and the naming follows, never the other way round.

  • Founder, Germany’s first Art Therapy – Social Art degree, Alanus University
  • Forty years in art therapy, art-based coaching and university teaching
  • Developer of Biography-Based Art Coaching
  • Has taught practitioners across Europe and Asia

Before you book

Do I need to be good at art?

No. Nothing you make is judged or interpreted, by Hildrun or by anyone else. Paper, colour and clay are simply another way in when words go round in circles.

What will we actually do?

You draw, shape clay and sometimes move, guided one step at a time at your own table. Prof. Hildrun Rolff also explains the psychology behind each theme: why it happens and what is going on underneath. So you leave with both the understanding and activities you can use for yourself and with others. The exact exercises aren’t announced beforehand: if you can’t prepare, you can’t perform, and that’s when something honest shows up.

I don’t have children. Is the second evening for me?

Yes. The second evening is about children, and that includes the child you were. Most of these patterns began early, so learning how to help a child with them is also a way of understanding where yours started. You try every exercise yourself first. If there are children in your life, as a parent, grandparent, teacher or counsellor, you also leave with things you can use with them.

Is this therapy?

No. These are art-based coaching evenings for everyday life and for your work with others. They don’t replace professional support when someone needs it.

I’m not in Malaysia. What time is it for me?

Each evening runs from 6.00pm to 8.30pm Malaysia time (UTC+8). Your Zoom invitation shows it in your own time zone.

How does the team price work?

When three or more of you register together, each person pays the lower price.
